A Crazy Start

The day after Brandon and I were married, we drove to Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon.  We had a wonderful time!  We loved going on our first trip together.  We went canoeing, made dinner, watched movies, went hiking, read books, and laid by the lake a few times.  We found this awesome pier where we spent one afternoon.

It rained all day Wednesday while we were there, but that ended up being one of our favorite days.  We drove all around the lake.  It was SO beautiful!  We loved it.

Driving around Tahoe.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Friday morning, after our honeymoon, we drove straight to Clovis for the open house at Branon's parents' house.  The open house was PERFECT!  We loved seeing everyone there.  We were overwhelmed with gratitude from the kindness people had shown to us.

The following morning, we spent Saturday and Sunday driving to Texas.  We finally got to Amarillo Sunday night and Brandon started his internship the next morning.  His internship is with the NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) for the summer.

Last weekend, we drove to Paulo Duro Canyon State Park.  It's about half an hour away from Amarillo.  We went hiking.  We hiked to the "Lighthouse" which is a cool rock formation.  When we climbed to the top you could see the whole canyon.  We ate out sack lunches up there.  We had a blast, but it was SO hot.  Did I mention it was hot?  Well, it was.  When we got back, we both had a snow cone.  I don't think a snow cone ever tasted that good.

Check out the colors of the rock!

We loved hiking!  We wish there were more hikes in Amarillo.  We can't wait to do some more hikes in Utah!
